The Week of Independence

I decided to pull out this book called "The Secret Language of Relationships" last night, as I was having a hell of a time trying to fall asleep. It's very interesting and wonder how accurate the little run down of some of the other sun signs is for other people. It is divided by weeks for your birthday, and as mine falls during the first week of Sagittarius I am a Sagittarius I: The Week of Independence.

Here's a quick run through of what it says.

  • Independence is the central image.
  • Emphasis on striking out one one's own, devoting more energy to oneself and a bit less on family or career.
  • Joyfully embarking on a fresh path but building on areas of real interest from one's past.
  • Feeling renewed excitement in being alive, seeking more expansive horizons and relearning how to be alone (and enjoy it).
  • Attempts to dampen or smother such impulses will be steadfastly resisted.
  • Hard to control, must feel free to act on their impulses and intuition.
  • Respect has not been earned or when it is lost, expect constant conflict and strife
  • Honour and trust are high priorities.
  • Expect fairness in themselves and others.
  • Will not tolerate mistreatment of dependent or helpless in their presence.
  • Try to project an air of self-assurance and confidence, behind the facade often lurks a sensitive and insecure individual
  • Can easily and instantaneously fly off the handle, when put under stress through negative criticism or challenge to their character.
  • Enormous willpower.
  • Often get their way simply because they allow no other possibility.
  • Highly competitive.
  • Accepting defeat graciously is not usually possible for these dynamic individuals.
  • Can be unreasonable, but are usually open to discussion.
  • Quick and witty, thoroughly enjoy verbal repartee and debate.
  • People meeting for the first time sometimes taken aback by forthrightness and outrageous observations and proposals.
  • Many have a greater need to give than to receive, generosity is directly related to their feelings of self-worth and self-esteem.
  • Have a need to see themselves as caring rather than needy.
  • Some are not at all bashful about stating their demands, will not object to being served by others.
  • Generally have one or two people with whom they feel close enough to share their innermost thoughts.
  • Highly ethical individuals who value integrity and character more than anything else, except perhaps their freedom.
  • Feeling betrayed by close friend or family, one can go through untold agonies of evaluation, judgment or rejection.
  • Assessing the intentions of the person in question is usually of great importance.
  • Those who want to spend time with these individuals have to be able to keep up and share the fast pace they set.
  • Acute need for stability.
  • Are ardent and unconstrained in their emotional expression.
  • Extremely giving of their feelings but demand a great deal in return
Strengths: Honourable, Intuitive, Responsible
Weaknesses: Overcompetitive, Impulsive, Temperamental

Of course, not all of this applies to me, however a lot of it seemed to be quite accurate.
Now, I'm curious as to how accurate some of these other ones are for others as well as the little blurb about the relationship of the various signs.

*Edit*
After turning the page in the book, I find the following:

Advice: Strive to keep your emotions on an even keel. Beware of allowing yourself an overly high -minded or high-banded attitude. Keep control over your expectations and try to be more forgiving. There is nothing wrong with compromise, or with occasionally losing. Watch your tendency to exaggerate.
